happy happy hump day everyone!
and for like the four hundreth hump day in a row I am not humping. Damn.
hehehe.
My buddy from this band *Insolence* just got back from LA with thier new finshed album all mix and mastered. He's really wanting me to hear it so I can give him my opinion. It's set to be relaesed in November in Japan and europe (on Warner Brothers Japan). Then they will have a US release in Spring with a yet-decided label.
They've been down this road before, but this album has been a little different. They were signed to MAverick Records (madonnas label) in 2000. Got on the Little Nicky movie soundtrack. And the Driven soundtrack (also appeared in the movies as "the band" in the club scene). They relased there BIG major label produced album (for them it was like a greatest hits becasue they already had 3 full length independent releases) and it promptly bombed. You see, they were a rap/regaee/metal band long before limp bizkit supposedly "made it cool". They had passed on quite a few major label deals over the years and they really thought this was going to be it. Then the "rap/rock phenomenom" hit the wall. ooooops.
35,000 albums later they were dropped by Maverick. BUT, lucky for them they went GOLD in Japan (which is 100,000 copies) and have become almost cult american rock and roll hero's to a lot of japanese fans. That's what allowed them to make this rad new CD "STAND STRONG" (go check out the 3 little sound clips of thier new songs. They've mellowed out and gotten quite Irie on this latest album as they've really dug deep into the reggae roots over the last year as a band. They still bring the thunder and still rap, but over all its got a strong rasta vibe through out. Really though, I just hope this album does well for them becasue they've worked hardfor the last 10 years playing well over 600 or more shows and with very little to show for it. They are some of my best friends and they deserve to have some finacial security for themselves and thier families so they can keep creating music. Lets all just cross our fingers ok?
sorry that was so damn winded.
hehe

Hope you had a good weekend. Mine sucked. I was depressed in bed the whole time. Still feel kinda yukky. I have no creamer for my coffee and that makes me want to blow things up.
Still frustrated and now I am sad because I want to go to the SG Burlesque Tour show and I have no one to go with and even if I did, I am scared of social crap. So, crap! I hate all these feelings holding me back from doing things! Especially viewing possibly naked SG's. Grrrr.
I've known those boys for a looooong time. Kevin was a replacement for me in 2 of my previous bands..that kid is a SHREDDER!
