I'm off to Fairfax, VA / Washington DC for work for 9 days. I hope I get lucky and get some time to visit NYC, that would make a crappy work trip much cooler.

Wish I'd have seen your post earlier. I would have encouraged you to check out the Brickskeller in Dupont Circle (500 beers from around the world) and Good Guys on Wisconsin. Amazing strip club that would ruin you for life compared with CA and NV.
