Well. well, well.
5 days and the tracking is FINALLY done.
We spent a SUPER long day in studio on wednsday (over 13 hours) until we were finally fiished.
We walked away with a 20 minutes level/mix on each of the 6 songs so we can listen to them over the next 2 weeks. Then after that I'll be back to mix em over a 2-3 day period. I had a great time tracking and I think we captured some great stuff (It can ALWAYS be better)(I am super critical bastard). The finished product is still abouta month off with the mixing/mastering both still needing to be done. Until then I'm gonna listen to the raw tracks over and over and over and over and over, etc... Not that I havent already while tracking. But thats cool because I dig the songs a lot so I'll survive
When then when straight form 5 days of tracking to our show (and the first with the NEW bass player) with Major label boys, Spineshank; up in SF. I wanna start by saying that The Spineshank guys are rad dudes and played a rad set of tunes (especially since it was only thier 2nd show in over 18 months). We also met the opening band who was up from LA, DaiJobu; and they are awesome dudes and a tight band. Anyone down in the LA area looking to check out a tight band, check them out. The Boys (Called to Ruin) sounded pumped up and outstanding and Kieth, the new bass player; ripped it up. It was really good to finally hear the new bass lines played live. They really bulk up the music in so many good ways and it just makes the music sound a lot more "mature". What a crazy last 6 days it's been full of music, music, music. I think I like it that way
