I had a long weekend in the city. Lots of whiskey. Lots of rain. Some fucking awesome homemade ramen at sapporo-ya in Japantown.

Yesterday I visited my Gramma Genni on her deathbed in a Davis, Ca convalescent home. She's 91. She has an enlarged heart and ongoing heart failure. She's on morphine and valium for her pain. She's stopped eating and says she's not hungry. She's quite prepared to leave this world and is proud for the life she lived and for her 15 grandchildren. I stayed at her bedside for an hour speaking with her and I was lucky to be there during a time of day that she was lucid and coherent. Her hands were warm. She's lost a lot of weight from not eating and the skin on her arms is loose. Its hard to be sad when she's so ready to go, but I'm going to miss her. She's a wonderful person and I love her very much. I wonder where she'll go.
