I got duped by management at work. It doesn't happen often and it only happened this time because I was tired. I may be around even more often than usual because I intend to give them a piece of my mind when I get in tonight.
Last night, before work, our supervisor tells us about 2 inititaves before the Illinois State Congress. They way it was explained was, these inititaves would make it legal for anyone to sell alcohol to anyone via the internet. This would severely affect us and possibly put our company out of business. If oue customers could just buy direct from the brewer they wouldn't need us. It would also violate federal interstate commerce laws.
That is, if this were the case.
We were asked to sign a petition to our state representatives telling them we wanted it voted down. It seemed like a good idea, hell I am all for keeping the job I bullshat my way into. (Next journal I'll tell that one).
In reality Illinois House Bill 4350 and Senate Bill 2180 allow small wineries to sell their product via the internet or phone. In essence they used the old scare tactic "You'll lose your job if they pass this." to get people to sign it. They used the threat of us losing our livelyhood to screw the small businesses. Well come to the Chicaogo Beer Industry.![wink](https://dz3ixmv6nok8z.cloudfront.net/static/img/emoticons/wink.6a5555b139e7.gif)
