I've been wanting to get into DnD. I don't know why. I played it a few times in college, but I basically just jumped in during the middle of an ongoing game. Also having not played it before, I had no idea what I was doing. My friends handed me a player sheet that was already made and I just went along with things. It was pretty fun though. Along with that we did some LARPing. Again, they handed me a character and I went along with it.
I notice a lot of the things I like now, I wasn't able to do as a kid. Not because I wasn't allowed to, but because all my friends didn't do that kind of stuff. The most I did was play some Magic the Gathering every now and then.
Planning on getting a little starter game kit for DnD. Found one for under$20 with all the basics. If this one goes well, I'll think about spending a little more on the other books and what not. I will, however, start the game by playing "D&D" by Stephen Lynch.
