After a while of thinking about it, I decided to finally start collecting some vinyl. Mostly because I bought the Conan O'Brien and Stephen Colbert records from Third Man Records. I dug up my parents old turntable and even though it's over 30 years old, it still works like a charm.
I got on eBay and checked for some records and I found a few good ones from some of my favorite bands. I bought a few Weird Al Yankovic records for a good price and they play great. It took me some hours of searching but I did find several They Might Be Giants records. I paid a bit more than I wanted, but it's TMBG. Got most of them from the UK. I had gotten their album "The Else" for my birthday at a concert of theirs from my buddy. It's signed by the band, which it prettay awesome. I found "Lincoln" and "Flood" on eBay and "Factory Showroom". Very excited about getting them in and listening to the glory that is They Might Be Giants. I bought their newest album "Join Us" on Amazon and it is amazing.
I need to find some of The White Stripes records. It's not hard to find them, but they are a bit pricey. Once I get some money together, I'll just get on Third Man Records and get them. Either that or take the 9 hour road trip to Third Man Records.
I bought a few others like Of Monsters and Men, Dead Weather, Reel Big Fish, Cake, Killer Dwarfs and the Electric Love Muffin.
Sometimes you don't realize how much you appreciate music until you care for some vinyls and really sit down and listen to the work. There's just something about it that's really special to my ears.
