Went to the SGB show last night. It was *very* cool. They are all so talented. I'm glad they're helping bring burlesque back to life.
I lurked after the show and had some of the girls sign a poster for me. This was more or less a shameless ploy to try to get pictures with them. Well, maybe it wasn't just a ploy. Having the signed poster is pretty nifty. Nixon kissed it and signed between her lipstick marks. Nixion drew a robot. And I managed to get photos with them as well.
Here's me with Pearl. (Her hula hoop number was amazing! Little tidbit of Pearl intel, she smokes cigarettes partly made of catnip.)
Me and Nixon (She is incredibly sexy in person, even more so than in her pictures, which are pretty fucking sexy.)
Me and Stormy (who signs her name with a $.)
Finally, me and Nixion (who loves robots and may soon change her name to Reagan)
I briefly met RavenIsis, but by then I was getting a little tipsy and forgot to ask to take a picture with her. I guess I was just in awe.
All of them were so nice and so cute.
I also got a chance to talk briefly with Willem. He's neither in the show nor a suicide girl, but he was toting such a cool camera, I had to go ask him about it. (Those who know me will understand this completely. For those who don't, I'm obsessed with cameras.) He was very nice.
I am such a total fan/dork. I do this sort of thing whenever I get the chance. Carrying a camera in my pocket everywhere I go (no, I'm not just glad to see you) makes it a little easier. I have pictures of me with David J (you may remember him from such bands as Bauhaus, Tones on Tale, and Love and Rockets), two of The Smiths (the other two - Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce), Rodney Bingenheimer (as in "Rodney on the ROQ"), George Hickenlooper (director of "Mayor of Sunset Strip), Shepard Fairy (the graphic/conceptual artist, probably best known for his Andre the Giant/Obey stuff), and (my hero) the beautiful and talented Romy Kaye.
Check out my candids for the pics.

(Let us hope my English skills are better than my Spanish skills or I may never be able to say what I mean to say. Which is to say...)
Witty comments are always appreciated on my end. And I do give extra credit for working that sleazy sexual angle, as well.
Stinging? Perhaps. Warranted? No.
Thank you for the nightmare fodder. Those pictures should serve as a warning to all pretenders to the Peter Pan throne....
