I think it's time to post a proper journal entry...
To start things off, things have been going quite well for me lately, I have a feeling that this is going to be an excellent month.
First off, my good friend Chris is moving to Edmonton. We've been hanging out quite a bit and he's finally decided to move down here. It's a good thing because he will have alot more opportunities to advance in life not living in Leduc. This means more interesting nights at New City and more partying in general. He's a blast to hang out with..we recently made a really bad video on how to dance to synthpop and industrial. I however don't think I'll ever show it to anyone else because we look like a bunch of fools in it.
The second highlight of this month was my birthday. I had a party on Saturday which I'm pretty sure pissed off my neighbours. There was only 12 of us but we made the most of it. Lots of alcohol was consumed, including some veery bizzare concotions of whatever everyone was drinking. Drunkeness ensued as well as more horrible dancing. When things got too roudy for my tastes (the condo is mine and if anything gets broken I have to pay for it myself) we headed out to New City. At New City we danced for a while and drank some more. Most of the people decided to head home around 1:30 which was fine by me. Five of us ended up returning to my place, where one girl promptly passed out on my kitchen counter. Chris and Rummy, a kid from my class had an emo as fuck, heart to heart talk while I tried to find some happy music to play. Apparently I don't have any so we settled for some rather depressing tunes. As the night wore on, people randomly passed out or went home, so that was the end of my birthday party. The next day me and a certain girl went out for sushi.
The longsword comment a few posts ago was a result of me trying out sword fighting. I went with the viking to one of his practices. His group is part one of the SCA groups which re-enacts mideval sword fighting, battles and such. It was alot of fun and I hope to try it again soon, I just need some armor that fits. I had to wear the vikings armor who was 260 lbs at one point. It was way too big, in fact we had to tape the upper body armor to me instead of using the straps. The only thing that really fit was the helmet and the leg armor. I fought using a longsword and a round shield. The shield was really heavy and defenatly not for beginners. I got my ass kicked, but the whole point of me fighing was to see if I was capable of handling it. I got hit in the head so may times, it wasn't even funny. My left ear was ringing for ten minutes afterwards, but overall it was well worth it. Hopefully I can go again in the next few weeks.
Another thing I should add is that I've joined the IWW. I may have mentioned this earlier but I'll say it again. Originally I thought of them as more of a symbolic organization, but now I feel that they really can make an impact. The Edmonton branch is quite well organized, I suggest anyone interested to go to their website http://edmonton.iww.ca/. For those of you not in Edmonton check out http://www.iww.org/ for a branch near you.
Well so far that's all that's happened this month, but I'm quite excited for this weekend. It's Lupercalia 2005 a weekend long fetish event. I wanted to go last year but tickets sold out, so I made sure to get mine early. The weekend will be full of workshops, speakers and vendors all involved in the fetish and BDSM lifestyle. It should be very intersting, as well as allowing me to meet some more people involved in the scene, which I've been meaning to do for a while.
Anyways that's about it for now, I may post details about the weekend if I feel like it. I will now leave you with a list of CD's I've bought lately;
Apocalyptica - S/T (Good CD..there's even a few vocal tracks)
Assemblage 23 - Storm (I enjoy this CD alot, similar to their Defiance CD but with more tracks that I like)
And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead - Worlds Apart
Ministry - Twitch ( Oldschool Ministry, before they went industrial metal)
Blind Guardian - A Night At The Opera ( Epic cheese but I enjoy it...makes me happy)
Low - Songs For A Dead Pilot ( depressing and good)
The Blackheart Procession+ Solbakken ( very cool split cd....buy it if your a fan of blackheart)
Heaven Shall Burn - Antigone ( Loud German metal..fun stuff)
Funeral For A Friend - Casually Dressed And Deep In Conversation (Screamo I guess...I like it though makes me feel like an angsty teenager again)

There's a group that does historical sword fighting type stuff out here as well, but I'm not sure that I'd be able to handle it as well as you did. I'll stick to watching it for now.
Have a good Wendesday!
