Just a quick hit and run. School is super-busy and since I'm not a super hot alterna-chick and I haven't been on the boards in about 6 months, I figure no one is checking up on me much anyway.
Two new pieces of art are in my art folder. They are for a book project. I designed, typeset, printed, bound, cased-in, and illustrated a version of A Princess of Mars by Edgar Rice Burroughs. Yes, it was a lot of work and, yes, it kicked ass. I know have a totally ass-kicking hard bound edition that I build myself.
I used Galliard for the text (11.5/16, for those who care) and Mantinia for the titling. Both were designed by Matthew Carter, who also designed typefaces for phone books, various magazines, newspapers, and, depending on what computer you're using and its default text settings, what you are reading right now.
The third illo in the art section (the profile) is part of the cover. That was printed on Canson Vidalon Vellum, a very sweet 55lb transparent drafting medium, which cost me $1.50 a sheet (and I went through about 6 sheets before it worked out.)
At some point I'll have pictures.
On a side note, I've finally gotten a website. I am just now learning HTML and am set to learn flash next quarter, so the site is not all that... but here it is. Right now all there is are some school project I've been working on. The final project is due Weds, by the way. Sometime after that it will get a new face; not that I'm tired of Dejah Thoris. I just want something more playful.
So, that is all for now. Over the break I will try and journal everyone on my friends list to let them know I'm alive and play around on the boards to get into trouble again. I almost jumped into the Tookie Williams thread, but after arguing with some goddamn liberal-guilt hippies at school, I'm about done with it. But I'm sure there will be something going on.

i like intelligent conversation that doesn't happen by me having to scream over loud music.
