Pictures from Halloween in Madison. Crappier captions are in the pictures section.
A building I found I missed way too much. Ah, nostalgia, how you always haunt me.
State Street. Fun fun.
Saturday afternoon, my friend Sara and I went to the Farmers Market, then slept on the lawn outside the building for a few hours. I'd like to do it again.
Some of these will be out of order, like these past few. This was saturday night, as the previous were saturday, too. That is yours truly on the bed, and my friend Sara's hallmates Mallory and Laura.
Friday Night
She didn't get my boots in the picture.
The boots make the costume..Well, no, but I like my boots damnit.
Yours truly again. No one has any iea what's going on. Maybe I am going to sneeze? Or maybe I was caught almost mid-blink..?
Sara! A giant toddler on a cellphone.
My roommate Liz, as Cleopatra.
Yours truly, Sara, and Liz.
Saturday
Outside the capital, walking around at the Farmers Market. They were making a leaf pile for the kids to jump in.
We also stopped to watch a photographer photograph a wedding right outside the building too. It was such a beautiful day, and the wedding made me feel sad and giddy.
Some people on State Street, already dressed up. We had gone to eat ice cream.
A pile of bikes.. Yep.
Then Sara, Liz, Liz's friend Loris and I went to the campus and sat on these step things and watched the ducks swim by. We'd crack jokes about how there was one female and three males in that group that just swam by, or aw, two females and two males, a double date! And we'd tell the males all these tips and how to date and stuff..
Liz and I got sad, and then we all waved to some asian guy sitting about 50 feet away on his phone. When he saw us, he ducked his head with a huge grin. We giggled. Back to the ducks!
We sat in silence as we watched the sunset. The lake was beautiful. I felt melancholic. I'm such a sap these days.
I wasn't dressed up in any costume saturday night, nor the night before, really.. The four of us headed out to State Street for some fun. Yours truly.
Wheeee..
People in costumes!
A cop who was convinced to do a cheer for cheerleaders, with pompoms. She was very enthused.
Near a break in the crowd.
A Rubix Cube.
There were cops on horses, too, that stayed on State Street. They actually went back and forth all night, I believe. Also meaning they let their horses shit right in the middle of the road for us all to smell and walk in constantly.
No explanation needed.
A cheerleader with his chick friend. She was determined to get in the picture with him looking like her bitch.
Making money.
Sara is in love with Johnny Depp/Jack Sparrow. She was excited that Johnny Depp was at State Street.
Just more costume pictures..
HAH.
Aww..
Yours truly with Santa.
And Ron Burgundy.
More costumes..
His other tetris buddies were around somewhere. Therre were about five different ones.
So. Looks like fun, eh? It was fun. Here's an outline of what happened.
Friday night, Sara, Liz, Loris and I went out to eat at Denny's so I could have my breakfast food. No one wanted to find a Perkins so I couldn't get my tremendous twelve.
Denny's was okay..
Then we all hung out on State Street, met up with Saras friends including Laura and Mallory.. People got too drunk later into the night and lazy, so Sara, Mallory, and I had no other choice but to sleep in Saras car in a parking lot right off of campus that night. I got to change in the backseat from my dress (my thighs were frozen and rock solid all night, it was so cold) into two pairs of pants so my legs would function again.
We'd wake up every half hour/hour or so because we were shivering so bad, so Sara would blast her heat until the windows, which were frosted over, melted completely. When that happened, we knew that we were still exhausted enough to fall back asleep in the small warmth inside the car. Then we'd wake up freezing again later, unable to see what drunkard was walking by the car making noises. So around 4:30 am, we drove to McDonalds, got warm food and drinks, parked in the parking spot again, warmed up, and tried to sleep. At 5:30, having to pee really, really badly and since it was too cold out to expose ourselves to pee behind the car and use a napkin from McDonalds (ouch!), we drove to an Open Pantry, took turns in the bathroom, got muffins, and went back to the parking spot to fill and warm up. Then we fell back asleep, and didn't wake up til 9 because the sun started to rise and warm the car. So that was a very cold, interesting night.
Saturday, Sara and I got up and walked to State Street at about 10. We went shopping and I bought Powerman 5000's True Force for $10. After visiting all the shops, we saw the Farmers Market going on, so we walked around that and I told her stories from back in spring and summer when I came for the weekends with Neil. Which made me feel a bit better, and her laugh.. Then we sat on the lawn (public property) outside the capital and napped for a few hours. And talked about how perfect it was all over again. Blue skies and green grass and red and orange and yellow leaves all around us and everyone smiling and having fun. I told her that I should get over myself and move out there next summer and invited her to stay in my future carboard box house, we could split the rent. Why didn't I move last summer?
Saturday night we met back up with Liz and Loris and stood on the sidewalk like we were watching a parade. We'd walk up and down to find a break in the crowd so we could breathe. And we got those pictures in the process. I wish I hadn't been ready to burst out laughing in that one with the cop so it'd look a little more serious. I wanted to send it to my mother before I got home..
Sara and I did have a place to sleep saturday night; in the apartment where we were guaranteed someone would open up the door for us the previous night. This time it only took an hour for someone to open it for us! We slept on the floor.
Sunday, I was supposed to take the bus back at 12:30 so I'd be here at 2:30 and could go home and get stuff done. Liz had church until 11:45, so she was supposed to give me a call then to tell me if she was going to make it to pick me up and drop me off at the bus depot before the bus left. Sara and Mallory and Laura and their other hallmate Jenny were leaving at about 12, so I had them drop me off on State Street, all of us thinking Liz would be on her way.
Liz called at 12:30, said she probably wasn't going to make it in time, and was going out to brunch and then doing some work at home. Now, since I didn't want to be a bitch because she did offer to give me a ride back, I said okay. And was left alone on the steps of the capital with all my belongings for the next few hours. It was all good until it started to rain and all my stuff got wet. I walked up and down State Street one more time, then sat back down on the steps and dealt with demons in my head for an hour and a half. The rain became a comfort and matched my mood.
Did you know the bus depot is only about six blocks away from State Street, and I could have easily walked to it and made the 12:30 bus? Because I didn't and no one I was with bothered to tell me that little fact. So I called Liz at quarter after two, to make sure she was not only on her way to get me, but tht we'd make it to the bus depot on time. I'm sure I sounded like a bitch, because her father was driving (who never talked to Sara and Loris and I everytime we went to Liz's place) and I was all mopey and sad and irritated, oh, and getting their backseat very wet when they picked me up. And drove me six fucking blocks to drop me off again.
Now I know for the future, though, if I ever do bus back out there again!
Leaving was really depressing, as it always had been when I left. Remember?
I stared out the window at the passing scenery that was still a tiny bit familiar. Before they picked me up, I picked up two small leaves that had fallen near me as I sat on the steps and put them in my pocket as souvineers.
After I got back sunday night and was in here, I had a small panic attack, but we're not going to get into that.
I was just sad that I came back I guess.
I have a few things I'm working on right now, and I'm hoping that when I finish them I'll feel better. I feel like a really selfish, stupid ass for a few things still.
I'm glad the weekend is coming up because I'm almost out of undies so I need to go home and do my wash, and wash myself as well.
I. am. starving. Time to go check out the cafeteria.
ps. I really don't want to proofread this, but I should anyway... *sigh* I wonder what I'm forgetting..?
Oh. And I really want my own digital camera. I really need some money.

And the only way i'm sending you any hot young chicks is if I get at least some pictures out of it, if not video, if not an open invitation to view such "shenanigans".
And yeah, I didn't really feel like it was a lame comment, I surely never intended it to be a lame comment, it's just that it sounds cheesy somehow. But I did mean it sincerely, you are very pretty, beautiful even.
I hope your day today is a good one.
Peace.
