Last friday I wasn't able to start my car because it was like 20 bellow zero. I've borrowed my mom's van, so my car's just been sitting outside getting burried under the snow. I was going to jump it over the weekend and get it running again, but a) its been cold outside and b) I realized I didn't have any jumper cables. So, my car got burried under more snow and got plowed in.
Today, after work, I decided it was time to get my car going again. On the way home from work I stop by my dad's office and borrow his jumper cables. Then I get home, see that my car was even more burried/plowed in than before and the parking spot next to it is just a big mountain of snow. So I break out the shovel and get to work.
A couple hours later, the spot next to my car is clear and I've dug my car out. I pull the van up next to my car. Before I connect up the cables, I try to start my car just to see what happens...
Guess what: It starts right up.
All that work clearing out the space next to me for nothing, the town-home association is just going to plow it tomorrow anyway now that I can get my car out of there.
So then I head over to my dad's house to return the jumper cables and pick up my cell phone (I forgot it over there last night when I was watching movies). My dad's driveway goes downhill towards the house and I dunno what I was thinking but I go ahead and go down this driveway that's covered in a good foot or so of snow. As soon as I get to the bottom of the driveway (my car is already swimming in the stuff at this point) I think how the heck am I gonna get out. And of course, once I get my phone, and return the cables and get back in my car, I can't get up the driveway.
So I pull out the shovel and start clearing a path. Try driving up the driveway again, get stuck, pull out shovel, repeat, rinse and repeat again.
I ended up shovelling a huge portion of the driveway. Had I known it was going to be this much effort I woulds just started up my dad's snowblower. Eventually my little sister came home and I had her drive the car out as I pushed.
So I shovelled like a maniac today, and my back hurts, and I'm ready for spring RIGHT NOW!
