On Sleepzone in Galway. Approx. $30 USD got me a room to me self. I think you want to make a reservation though in the summer or you might get stuck in a dorm. Galway is a pretty cool place (my mom is from there and I have duel citizenship). Lot's to do. I don't know if I'd want to spend too much time there though as I have become a big city freak and Galway is far from being that. However, if you are going to school it can be a good thing. My sister did her masters in Anglo-Irish Lit at Trinity. She loved it and Dublin. If I had my druthers I'd pick Dublin over Galway for the long haul. The problem with Dublin is that it has become really expensive to live there. The avg. rent for a one bedroom flat in Dublin is approx 900 Euros compared to half of that for anywhere else in country. If you are looking for affordability then Galway can't be beat and I hear (from my scraping midget cousin) that NUI-Galway is a decent school. I head that way two or three times year depending on circumstances so if you want any more info feel free to shoot me a line or two. I plan on heading that way this August for a couple of weeks after I get married.
Ha Ha Ha - I got my ass kicked by the Boston PD a couple of years ago. At least they let you go in the morning after taking the boot to you. Beat's having to visit the judge any day.
