Oof. Just got back from my first sparring night. It's nothing rough, just one night a week where anybody is allowed to walk in off the street and spar. Mostly it seems to be just our own students, but from what I've heard, we get visitors pretty frequently.
Anyway, I'm exhausted. This kid who apparently just does the bagua classes picked me out. He kept trying to go for leg stuff, and I just kept wrapping my arms around his waist or thigh/hips and picking him up off the ground (which works okay, but what I apparently should have done was plant my hand on his back and squish him into the ground). He was a goddamn dynamo--ten minutes of constant rushing, moving, lifting, feinting. I feel good, though. He's two-thirds my age... and we stopped because he got too tired.
Other than that, I mainly learned that when you go for a reverse punch, it's really important to keep your leading arm up to protect your face.

Aw and thanks for your comment on Latara's set
