Ok, I'm bothered by my frat-boy appearance! I was just reading one of cait's entries, and it totally bummed me out. I don't think I drink or exist on the same emotional level as most frat boys, in fact I know I'm well beyond them in terms of emotional maturity, but I do think I have the frat boy look to me.

I'll give you the flip side of the appearance coin here.

Now, as you look at my profile pic, what's the first thing that pops into your head?

{look before continuing}

Psycho, redneck, and creepy are the usual replies. Things I am, to a point. I'm also relatively well-read, a decent guy, and very capable of laughing at myself. But it's rare to see me smile in public, so not many realize this.

I doubt "frat boy" (a term I despise as much as "frat rat") even entered your head. Yet I am a member of a fraternity. Cait can judge all she wants. I prefer to keep my membership low-key, then spring it on someone when they start complaining about fraternities/sororities in general.

Big Wreck is out of Ontario--their most widely known song is "That Song", so maybe you've heard them. Oddly enough, I first heard them in Colorado on a Clear Channel station.

Speaking of that Denver station, they played Apollo 440's "Stop the Rock" pretty regularly, so I bought the CD when I stumbled on it. Come to play it & I hear a song from the Gran Turismo 3 (which I used to play religiously) soundtrack--"Cold Rock the Mic". Not too shabby for $5.

I do think it's kinda odd the local "independently-owned so we play whatever the f*** we want" Canuck station plays more of the mainstream stuff (Avril Lavigne, Coldplay, Kid Rock, etc.), yet the big, bad corporation-owned Denver station played more of the fringe stuff (Bran Van 3000, Depeche Mode, BT, Snake River Conspiracy, And One, Ministry, etc.)

Not a ton of mindless frat boys and sorority girls here, which is exactly...
