It is, more to the point, that our egos refuse to believe that we'll have the same outcome or
that we're so much smarter and more brilliant than those who failed, that we'll succeed.

Why is it that God, or fate, or the collective consciousness, or whatever you want to call it, lets bad things happen to good people?
I guess it's so that they and others can find the strength to overcome, and the passion to stay the course.
