Yesterday I had a Bilateral Tubal Ligation. This means today I am sterile.
This is something that I've wanted for as long as I can remember. I knew at the age of 4 that I wanted no children and I actually told my dad that. He knew that I knew what was right for me and never gave me that oh, you will change your mind one day bullshit. My dad a a lot of things wrong but I feel that is something that he did very right.
I am happy with my decision. I would have been happy with this 10 years ago when I started asking my doctor about it, but they thought I would change my mind. I turned 32 and suddenly I will no longer change my mind.
I find this incredibly ridiculous.
Anyway, it's finally done. I am in more pain than I thought I would be but it is not unbearable and I do have pain meds. My mouth has been incredibly dry...like my lips feel a bit chapped...I think may be a side effect of the meds. Hopefully tomorrow I will feel much better, I do not want to have to call in sick Monday.
