Hey gee! What do you know? I didn't fall off of the planet after all! Here I am, alive and still somewhat kicking. There have been lots of changes and all sorts of issues.... for my first post back, I'll try and keep stuff short and sweet
For all those who actually followed some of my drama... there have been some pretty major changes. First, the Docs and I have finally gotten things smoothed out. I have been put on meds for the PCOS and for the fibromyalgia that have made a HUGE difference. I figure that I am about 70% function which is a hell of a lot better than the 30% I felt like last summer and into the fall. Part of the health issue was the stress I was under, and that brings us to changes two and three...
Change two is that my eldest son (who has mental health and development issues) has been moved to a group home in a nearby town. He is learning life skills and job training that will (hopefully) prepare him for life on his own. He will be 18 in 6 months, and even though he is still in high school, we have reached the stage where he MUST figure life out on his own two feet. Not having to deal with the daily blowouts and walking on eggshells has been a huge relief for me.
The third change is that my Hubby is still not in a "normal 9-5" job. However, we are managing money wise, he is focusing on getting his business running, and his stress is greatly relieved which in turn relieves mine. It is amazing to me that we have been together almost a full twenty years now, and I think I love him more now that I did even a few years ago. He awes me often, and that is a good thing
So life rolls along well.... we just traveled to Arizona for two weeks to go to an SCA war and to visit a friend in Yuma. War was a lot of fun there was great shopping (lots of cool stuff and even better ideas for stuff I can make), there were wonderful classes, lots of fighting (heavy armor, rapier, archery and equestrian), and there was even hound coursing (that was hysterically fun!). We had a blast and would like to go again. We will probably wait two years and then take the kids with us. One of the best parts about war was volunteering. It constantly amazes me just how much more fun an event can be when you volunteer to help and end up with people you don't know. I made several new friends and had more fun doing the volunteering than I did doing anything else...even shopping As for Yuma...it is a small two really, but it was great to see my friend Beth, and we had a good time seeing everything from the old fort church to the neatest playground ever! Besides, it was nice being WARM...(war was rainy and wet, and even these Alaskans froze at night...Yuma was warm and we got to sleep in a home and not a tent )
Anyway, that is it with me... normal drill now that I am home. Two weeks to spring break for the kids, and three weeks before I fly off to Sacramento for another SCA event (March Crown). Life is pretty good right now

I have PCOS too......it sucks.
I was thinking about you the other day and wondered how things were going with your son. I'm glad to hear things are better for him and you of course.
Take care.
