I just finished extensive research on the national Opinion Polling companies:
Politico/GWU/Battleground
Gallup
Rasmussen
Newsweek
NBC/Wall Street Journal
Pew Research
Associated Press/GfK
Fox News
Reuters/Ipsos
and a local political polling company - Research and Polling, Inc.
and found out something very interesting... the majority of them don't call or question cell phone only owners which is the fastest growing demographics in this country. A demographic that tends to be younger and less affluent people who tend to vote Democrat!
This could throw a 24% error rate into the poll results you are hearing. This information should not be seen as an excuse to stay away from the polls if you were planning to vote against the right wing crazies, though. You still need to get your self and everyone you know to the polls and vote against the Tea Puppets who are serving only the rich and corporations.
