as of this morning:
start of the day
yeah i probably had some pretty dreams
but woke up dead too late to be saved
it was supposed to be a day of renewal
(still will be if i have a say)
i'm right on schedule nonetheless
just haven't got anything to show for the rest

the fates cursed our love
though in the beginning it was like heavens own gift
each day a treasure just to see you
our time together like a blessed kiss
and even though it seems we were not meant to last
i would rather spend my days dreaming in the past
than contemplate the bleak & bleary times to come
without you by me, all alone

thinking back to realer moments
where at the time I had no real conceptualization
of the capacity of such tender things
family reunion or party or whatnot
held out in Maynard
invited by my love
the other times you were witnessed
by those other loves
so new and so awkward not really but seems
at least to me inward ignoring the uncovering
of all my real seamsx
