Well where to begin? Lets go with car problems.
On the eve of New Year's Eve as I was driving home from MistressMissy and EvanX's house my front passenger tire came off the rim. Fabulous. eye8theworm came and helped me get the donut on, as I was too weak to get the lug nuts off, and drove it to my parents house to borrow my sisters car. The next day my dad went to drive it to the shop to get a new tire for it and the donut went flat on him. So he had to carry my tire a half mile to the nearest shop and three auto repair places and half a dozen phone calls later I got three new tires on my car. Last winter I lost a tire due to a pot hole. Turned out it was fraying internally so it would have gone flat eventually anyway, the pot hole just helped it along. Well fast forward, and it turns out that the reason why I lost my passenger front tire was because it was also fraying internally. As such, my dad replaced all the tires on my car, save the one that got replaced a year ago so now they all match.
Over the weekend I was driving home from work (Saturday night at 6pm-ish) and my car began over heating. I had just passed a rest area, and the Hudsonville exit off I-196 was less than a mile away. Well, my luck being what it is of course my car and to explode on my about a 1/4 mile away from the exit. So as I'm sitting there in the cold waiting for eye8theworm and my dad to show up a cop pulls up behind me. He and I opened the hood and noticed that my main hose from the radiator to the engine block had popped off. We reattached it, dumped more coolant in and drove very cautiously to the nearest rest area and managed to make it right before my car over-heated again. At this point I'd lost all feeling in my toes and fingers (I had fingerless gloves on) and could barely pick up my keys. It took until 8pm but my dad and Nic managed to get the car cooled down enough to effectively keep coolant in and tighten the hose enough to drive it to Grandville without incident. It wasn't until I got home that I could feeling my hands again. Now, we've discovered that it was a leak on the engine side of the hose, and Nic has been driving it to work back and forth with out problem. I've been driving my sister's car as Nic's brakes are still shot on his Jetta.
This morning it took me two hours to shovel my driveway. I called into work and said I wouldn't be coming in due to the multiple slide offs, flips and feet of snow that I would be driving through/past on my way in. I thought that was a good idea...call me crazy. On the plus side of all this, I can do laundry and play Animal Crossings guilt free. Thank you Mother Nature.
