So I have never blogged before, and it has been years since I have written for pleasure, and not for school, but this seemed like a perfect opportunity to pick it back up again, and start something new at the same time.
To begin my blogging adventure, I figured I would start with something very simple, some basic/fun facts about me! Let's begin...
1. I always sit on the counter to do my makeup--I am beyond blind without my glasses, which I cannot wear while applying makeup (for obvious reasons) so this has become my routine. Currently, I sit in the sink as my counter space is very limited.
2. I was diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder and Panic Disorder when I was seven. Fifteen years later, I still take medication for these. I am currently stable and have been for a while, but there is always that fear of 'getting bad again'.
3. I am know very little about most sports and am equally as ignorant when it comes to playing them. In fact, I was asked to leave the basketball team when I was in middle school for being so awful. The only 'sport' I really enjoy is horseback riding.
4. Photography is my passion. I love capturing fleeting moments in time and memorializing them forever in film, it makes me feel powerful, like a keeper of memories. Currently I shoot with a Nikon D5100 when not using my iPhone 5.
5. I have never not had a cat. Ever since I was born, there has been at least one feline critter in my house. This tradition is something I mean to carry on for my own children.
6. I have a skin condition that causes me to have incredibly dry, flaky skin and numerous ingrown hairs that look like tiny bumps all over my arms and legs. I am incredibly self conscious about this and it is the main reason I could never, ever model.
7. I am a control freak by nature. When there is nothing for me to control, I make something up, or I panic. I used to be very bossy, but have since gotten past that.
8. My dad was the one who inspired me to get tattooed. I was always envious of his ink and needed some of my own. Now, I have more tattoos than him!
9. Seventeen years old was a big year for me! I began smoking cigarettes, weed, and I got my first tattoo. I also moved away from home to a different city (same state) at this age.
10. Numbers are like a different language to me, for I can neither read nor comprehend them. I also have trouble with the most rudimentary addition and subtraction.
11. For many years, I was convinced I was a lesbian. I even dated and lived with a woman for two years. I refuse to label my sexual orientation now, as I find it unimportant. I love who I love, and need who I need. Currently, I am with a man, and have been for the past several years. What the future holds, of course I don't know.
12. I love a good story. Whether it be a book, movie, graphic novel, or anything else. I love fantasy, comedy, drama, horror, suspense, and historical fiction, basically anything but romance. Yuck.
13. I was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and though I have been in Texas for fifteen years, I refuse to say 'ya'll' and still consider myself a Yankee.
I hope you found that informative, if not interesting. Any other questions, feel free to ask in the comments!
