Well, could have used more people. But the 11/30 show went pretty well.

Check out the short video I made of the hip-hop music and fashion show Thursday night at Angels featuring Pigeon John, Red Cloud, DJ Wise and the San Franciscan label Forensiks. Miss San Jose Grand Prix Jennifer Field hosted the night.
Thursday nights in San Jose tend to be hard to fill up clubs, but I have to hand it to Red Cloud and Pigeon John for riling up the ones that came. Red Cloud was a quick spittin' freestyler, and asked the crowd for items he could flow about. The Los Angeles emcee actually won the freestyle battle for Los Angeles' Power 106 for five weeks straight. He's a crowd pleaser so be sure to catch him next time he comes in town. Here's his myspace for details.
And Pigeon John has always been a favorite of mine. He raps with the same enthusiasm about his geekiness around girls to cowboys. My favorite song of his is "Life Goes On" (click to listen). He's also fun to watch - he's a crazy dancer - all limbs go in different directions at once.
Also a lot of the video focuses on a very fly breakdancing and hyphy group The Bridge out of Stockton. They are just starting so I'll keep tabs on them for you.
