Yesterday at work my manager and operations supervisor asked me to come see them in the office. I have only been working there for a month and a half, and was thinking the worst. What they ended up telling me was that a position had opened up in the operations side of the store (that is the back = no customers), and they had been throwing some names around as to who would be qualified to take the promotion, and decided on me. The position would be full time (instead of my craptastic three days a week thing) 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday (that is the only schedule that exists in the back, everyone works it). I would have all my evenings and weekends free. Plus with full time status I get the full health coverage thing, and two weeks paid vacation etc, etc. They gave me until today to think about it. The job would be repetitive, and I would miss working with the customers, but still I am going to tell them yes, the money alone is worth it! Yay being promoted!
Then when I got home there was a letter for me from George Brown saying that I was accepted to their next level of application. Now I have to do a interview and bring them my letter of reference from a volunteer position, plus attend an info session and hopefully be accepted! Yay George Brown!
