Things seem to be falling apart here.blackeyed

My wife has been having anxiety attacks, which she has had before. We aren't insured and can't get her to a therapist, or get her medication for it. Well....we are going to try, but it's so far out of our price range right now, but it would do so much good we need to figure a way to swing it....I don't have to eat every day do I?

I know it's a fucked up thing to worry about when it comes to this, but she has lost jobs before because of this, which I will never hold against her. But if that happens again, we will be unable to get by. We are barely scratching by as it is. I know its fucked up to worry about money when she's having this problem, but I can't help but worry about where this might lead.

I don't know....I'm so stressed out right now about this whole situation.....I'm nearly in tears right now as I type this up.

dude there are lots of at home remedies that can help anxiety attacks. i started to get them a couple years ago when first dating my girlfriend. i had nooooo idea what was going on. thought i was losing my mind feeling like that. then, i discovered two of my good friends has anxiety attacks but i had never seen either of them have one. they gave me some great remedies that I use when i do have them. at first it seemed like i would get them all the time. but now that i know how to control my thoughts, my breathing, and my overall feeling, they are far and few between.

have her try a few of the things that helped me, not a guarantee but i know what her and you are both going through.

1) deep breathing. inhale for 3 sec, hold for 3, exhale for 3. (this helps slow and control heart rate and breathing)

2..) closing eyes and rocking back and forth on feet. (this help to ground you physically, and gives you a sense of a center)

3.) as silly as it sounds. stop yourself, think about what's happening, and positively reassure yourself that you're safe and in no danger. (i thought it was stupid, but its the method i use the most and also the most helpful for me)

i used to hate going to work and leaving the house and now I lead a fairly normal life without the meds, which are completely habit forming and can lead to other problems.

hope this helps somewhat, and dont hesitate to ask any questions about it. (im in med school, haha not a doctor i know, but im getting there)
