Well. I've been in BC for a week and a half now. Been spending a lot less time on the computer than I used to, and a lot more money than I should.

Well, that's the end of that vacation.
Seemed like it was going slowly to start, which was good. Once that first week was over it seemed like it went by too quickly. But after another full week it feels like I've been here a while and can stand to leave and get back to preparing for the move. Over all it was satisfying.

Well, here is the kicker. I ordered the 1.8. But they sent the 1.4 by accident. The 1.4 will give you a bit more shallow depth of field so its good for low lite portraits in candle lite, band photography, blurry background stuff, ect.

Well, its more then just a .4 increase, i think its more a case of lite getting in increasing in an increasing amount at the number gets lower. Like when i was shooting some live band shots in a club, the ones i did at 1.8 were alot darker and i had to reduce the shutter speed to the point where i lost sharpness.
that .4 can be the difference in the shot you want and the shot you end up with.. so it makes sense to get it if you can afford it and are doing the type of shots that require it. I just lucked out when they sent me the 1.4 by accident. I was hoping they would do the same with the 85mm... but they didnt. The 85mm 1.4 is like 1g where as the 1.8 is 400.
but you know people, look at all the mooks that paid out the ass for the iphone, just so they had the latest toy.
