So I'm at what now, the month and a half mark?
Still no job, still no really wonderful beer, but kind of a girlfriend kinda thing going on.
Yeah, The first person I met when I came to visit in September was my sister's friend. She was going to take us to her work so she could claim the pound of free coffee she gets each week for working at Starbucks. I thought she was cute then, I thought she was cute when she came to the screening for my sister's film class.
My mom came up for that too. Which was unfortunately also when my friend Marie came to visit from Sask. So it was kind of a hard week to juggle. But I did.
So the day after the screening I go to hang out with Marie and her friend. We hit the aquarium and wandered the park. Then I met up with mom and sis at Cafe Crepe, had some beers, and a crepe, chatted with sissy's prof, then girl and sister's other friend from California arrrived just as sis had to take mom to the airport.
So I wandered with the cute girls for a while.
Both are really cute, but I set my sights on the one because she lives here.
We saw two seals at the waterfront. Hung out for a bit, then went home to watch a movie.
We met up for one more movie where we really started to hit it off, then the next time she came was when my sister had her yard sale at which point we got left alone for 10 minutes and kissing ensued.
So we've been going out. Wasn't sure how I felt about it long term which worked out nicely when we started talking about it because she just got out of a looong relationship and is going to Europe in August where she plans on acting like 'total trash'.
So it all works out. I have some luv'ns while I get on my feet, then get that sweet sweet 'yay I'm single' time again in a new city.
I love it here. It's awesome. I thought I was shy and antisocial. No there's just something horribly wrong with Kingston. I feel ontop of thee world here.
I've buddied up with some of sissy's friends. The one likes to throw 'dubbing parties' where we all get drunk and dub new voice tracks over movies and TV shows.
it's great fun. The one I went to hasn't been posted on youtube yet, but it gives you the idea.
I've dropped off a whole crapload of resumes.Only a few jobs I' really hopeful for.
Took one to the army surplus near by. I love the guys there, they crack me up, but they're not hiring.
BC liquor would be nice, so would the petfood store around the corner which says they're going to call me back for an interview next week. But the really cool one would be Brewery Creek. One of the two Vancouver stores that sells Steamwhistle.
When I did my call back, the manger seemed pretty interested, but informed me I needed certification to work in a private liquor store.
I took the exam online and passed today. So tomorrow I'm going to take a second round of Resumes out and stop in to let him know I've got the certification now.
Also going to stop at the gun shop to drool mostly, but I will casually mention that I'm dropping off resumes and if they want one I'll give it to them.
I don't know if they'd want me, seeing as I only fired my first gun two months ago.\
So other than sitting around, playing the Resident Evil games again. I've set up a nice garden in the back yard, set up a workshop in the basement.
Then the other day, My sis checked her facebook and saw that a friend of a friend put out a call for a model for a movie make up class.
I volunteered, then the net day I got a call with the details.
When I got there, it turned out the woman I was modeling for was the teacher of the class who just wanted her own project to work on while the students did theirs and since she was already having the contact lens woman and the photographer come in.
Her ex is apparently working on the set for a movie filming in town called Mordecai I think?
Anyway, the prosthetics she put on me were from that and are a fairly new style that go on like rub on tattoos. They were developed for Passion of the Christ and used in the Dawn of the Dead Remake.
I just got the pictures today. They are aaawesome.
The lady who did the contact lenses worked with the main characters of Twilight and from what I gather the woman who did the make up has done some pretty high profile stuff too.
So, yeah. I guess that's it. Found a few more beers I like. But nothing close to Steam whistle.
Been trying to plan a Beer night with the SGBC group to try and find something I like. Hopefully we'll be able to work that out soon.
Tooods!
