So. Excitement about Italy is finaly starting to build with three weeks until I leave. Excitement and frustration.
You see I'm being told I'll have to tone down my wardrobe for the trip, as they apparently look down on people strutting around in military pants and shirts that say 'Mercenaries never die, they just go to hell to regroup'.
So I went to look for some presentable men's clothing today, and wouldn't you know, I had two choices.
I could dress the same way I do for work, or I could look like a golfer... Thats GOLFer, not Gopher. Although, I wonder if I could pull off the gopher look?..
I am sickened by the lack of variety here in north america when it comes to men's fasion, it's either all the same thing in different colors or else it's splattered with brand names and logos. Also there's no way in hell I'm buying jeans! I just got rid of my last pair which I haven't worn in years. At least now I can proudly say I don't own any.
But yeah, what to wear? I got a look I'm going to try and go for (gopher) Something I've wanted to wear at work. I think I stole it from one of those really steam-punky anime style video games. I want one of those tunic style shirts with the lace up the front, a leather vest and then at work I'd probably have my welding goggles around my neck or on my head. But even for catual it would be pretty hot. Maybe even have a little bandana tied around my neck.
So I gotta try to find those shirts I want. I suppose there's a chance I could make something before I go. But I don't see how I'd whip up a pattern in time.
Guh. What a dilema.
I should be going out tomorrow night. Hopefully I'll be able to round all the guys up and we'll go to a pub downtown. Otherwise it's just me one bud and I going to the pool hall. We'll see...
