Two days ago, I dropped a friend off at his house after school in Deer Island. I decided to go cruisin, and went up Caneen Rd, then on to Misner Rd, to Apery, and then down Shafer. Shafer is a gravel road that takes you to many places, but I only know how to get to Pittsburg and Alder Creek. While driving Shafer, I fish it a little way, just to see how much control I got on the car and to get some experience so I can somewhat safely fuck with people.. The last time I did it, I went into the embankment I only bent the license plate and lost the bolts holding it on. I get back in and take off. At the split for Pittsburg/Alder Creek, I take the Pittsburg direction and I find a little road connecting the two bigger ones; full of MUD. oh ya. I was doing perfectly fine in the not-too-deep mud in a '91 Geo Storm. I turned a corner, and tried to go up the little hill back onto the mud trail I came from. There was a friggin root the held my front tire from making it, so I backed down the hill.. My front end slid to the right, and I got stuck. figures. I get out and walk around the car, I don't see any sticks or branches or anything, so think to myself, what if I turn my wheels to get a different angle at it? I get in, turn my wheels, pop-pheeeeew. What the Fuck?!? Fuck. I definately popped a tire. Now I know I'm not getting anywhere. So I climb the biggest friggin tree I could find. prolly around 80 ish feet or so. I stick my phone out as far as I could, hoping, just hoping I could get one freaking bar of service. Nothing. So I climb all the way back down this tree. I get back on to Shafer and start walkin. What else was I supposed to do? about 15 minutes later, I hear a truck, Yes! I stop and wave when they pull up.
"you lost?"
"ya got anything to pull a car out of the mud?"
"get in"
So they offer me a beer, I decline, I don't like to drink that much. Jared and....I can't remember the other guy's name, they were both cool though.
I show them the path I took, and we were trying to find the car through the trees. Finally spot it, and they just look at me like, wow. And laughter. Lots of Laughter!! We take a look at how it's stuck, he has me try to roll back and forth to get out like I had already tried. and of course I had the window rolled down, and when I turned my wheels to the right, definately sprayed mud all over everything in the car. Oh well. We go to push the car forward using the truck, just pushes the bumber in. fuckin plastic. So they look in the back of the company rig, and find some straps. tie 'em on. Snap. tie on the other one. Snap. So we're going to one of the dude's house to get some actual towing straps. We're just about on the gravel road, when one of 'em see's a rope tied to a tree. We get out; It's still attached to someone's BUMPER. "It pulled the bumper off, it's got to pull her out!" So we get to the car again, and quadruple up the rope. Yeah!!! I'm finally free!! they pulled me onto the grass, and proceeded to change my tire with the donut in the back. we stick a 2x4 behind a rear wheel, and start to lift the car. I'm standing there watching, and the jack starts leaning forward as it sinks into the mud, and the back tire rolls over the 2x4. We get the jack out from under, stick two 2x4s under the back tire, and a 2x4 under the jack, and the boys used a 2x4 to lift the car far enough for me to fit the jack into place. Yeah, we get the tire changed.
I get back onto the road, and I'm wondering where the boys are. I WALK! back to where they are, and they're truck won't start. but one of them dickered with something and it started. I shake one of their hands, and the other one comes up and had to hug me. It was all quite funny! They took pictures of my car with their camera phone, so they will always remember the day they pulled a Geo Storm out of the mud.
My old tire:
It's odd how it shaped like that!
and the muddy car:
It was worth it, just to give so many people so many laughs!!

I realized mostly though that she hasn't changed at all, it's actually me that suddenly hit some giant shift. I'm feeling better now.
