lately, my head has been swimming over the delights of the acl festival.
in my opinion, it actually starts on saturday, september eleventh. yes, much love on that day. but rejoice knowing that the shins hit stubb's in an effort to take everyone to their own happy place. then on tuesday, september fourteenth, the u.k.'s electrelane hits emo's.
then booya. friday, saturday and sunday. acl takes over from noon to ten-ish. but no. it doesn't end there. on friday, september seventeenth, after the last acl performance has finished, modest mouse makes another appearance at stubb's. then wilco hits stubb's the next night on saturday, the eighteenth. but wait, on that same night, broken social scene plays a set at the parish at the same time as wilco. wtf? homosaywhat?
ben harper, the pixies, the shins, wilco, modest mouse, broken social scene, my morning jacket, spoon, the roots, ryan adams, jack johnson, toots and the maytals, g love, patty griffin, big head todd, ben kweller, drive-by truckers, franz ferdinand, gomez, cat power, sloan, the killers, the soundtrack of our lives, the gourds and hundreds more... mmm... donuts.
it will be a weekend of unending supplies of: atm vists, aloe vera, slices, tecate and hearty hearty stimulants.
