This morning the alarm went off at 10am. I fell off the couch stumbled into the kitchen and hit the off button. I sleep-walked my way back to the couch, grabed my pillow and held it close, kissed it on the seem and whispered, "Don't get up baby. We're gonna sleep in today and cuddle."
The phone started ringing at about 1020 and didn't stop until I left for work at 1430. Heh, I'm applying for two different jobs now, as well as working on a comission packet for the U.S. Army. A lot of people want to talk to me and I got a lot of paperwork to do.
At work There were 23 patients and 4 nurses. I ended up on a team with an RN and an aid and we started with 12, discharged 1, and admitted one. It was a busy fucking night. As the LVN I pass all the oral medications (the rectal ones too if there are any) and I drew blood, and I changed dressings, and I played waiter, and I did it all trying not to be the kind of nurse that throws your meds at you while running past your door. You know, I try to listen to people tell their story. It's therapeutic, 'sides it's scary to be in a hospital. That and do you know how fast old people go, even when I'm in a hurry? The answer is not very fast. Let me tell ya, it's a wonderfull feeling to be late with meds, walk into Mr. So-and-so's room, and watch this poor old man take his pills at super slow motion speed.
So, I get home at 0130. I'm working nights this Friday and Saturday, so I'm trying to reset the bioclock by staring bleary-eyed at nekked girlies on Suicidegirls.com until the Sun comes up.
Then I'll start it all over again.
