I just got back from upstate New York where my nephew graduated from High School on Saturday.
He's the only son of my sister, dead 10 years ago this July. She was taken from us all by a terrible disease, and for years my nephew has had anger and emotional trouble. I've always loved him, but I wasn't ever sure what would become of him after his dad took him out of California. This weekend my fears have proved groundless. I could never be more proud of the boy turned young man. He's strong and smart and good natured and sensible enough to stay out of trouble. I know his mom would be proud.
