Update...
As many of you know in February of '03 I was activated for 18mos. I was a full time student in the Nursing program at Sac. State. Had I not been called up, then I would have graduated in Dec. of 2003, and I'd be making some serious big bucks right now instead of living off of Top Romen noodles (thanks to ye gods of colledgedom). About two weeks ago I get this post card in the mail from Sac. State, Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Nursing. On it are five good looking gals in their caps and gowns with a little caption that says "Joe S... this could be you." Even at that point the Irony was a little thick, but when I looked closely at the five ladies, I recognized them as my classmates that I should have graduated with.
Kinda cold blooded ain't it?
Well, I took the post card into the Division Chair's secretary, just to share this little joke. I actually got a good self depreciating laugh out of it, but none of the ladies in the office seemed to feel the sting with me. Oh well.
Today I'm turning in baby photos that will be used in a slide show at graduation. Knock on wood, but it seems like I'm actually gonna graduate in May.
10 years of hard work down a long and winding road. Sheesh, I don't feel that old, but I guess I am.
