My weekend started at about 6pm Friday. The work day was average with no huge challenges, so off I went on a 5 hour drive to DC to meet up with some cousins there. We partied and drank a bit down through Georgetown and then crashed. I got up early...about 8, sucked down some coffee and headed back to Fayetteville. I got in at about 2:30 wich left me just enough time to shower, brush my teeth, and get driving directions (I love mapquest) to the SG burlesque show in Wilmington. I rolled out at about 4.
The whole drive to Wilmington I'm slapping myself in the face and thighs, sucking down red bulls and coffee, and started smoking the first pack of cigs I've bought since Nov. I never really stopped, but I've gone 2-3 weeks without a smoke since June. I knew there would be alcohol and good looking strangers so in the double interests of not standing around doing nothing and not bumbing from people all night I went ahead and bought a pack. Anyway I'm doing all this shit to stay awake and the whole time I'm thinking that I suck if I just get to this thing and meet all these new people and then fade early.
All of you guys from SGNC were very nice, but I don't mean to insult you all with mediocrity. I mean nice in the most pleasant reasuring manner. It was my first time meeting or really talking to any of you, and no one put me off or acted aloof. Thanks. I have not met one uncool jerk on this site. I know they're out there, but I'm always pleased at the congeniality of this community....current even boards excepted
The girls were HOT. Snow+LittleRedRiddingHood=orgasm
I also liked Siren's number with the ropes, claws, and feather mask. Siren, I hated to wash the lipstick off.
The show was also packed and the crowd got pushy sometimes. I don't think any one more than 3 people back saw all that they should have.
There were two bands that played before the SG's went on, and I thought they did fine although they got a bit of heckling from the crowd. I think the second band was called Bloom and I thought the guitar player destroyed. He sounded great.
After the show a lot of the SGNC group went back to the Best Western.
I had spent most of my new stranger small talk over dinner at Nikki's and just before the show, so I busied myself being a handsome wallflower. When I got to the hotel room there were two girls showering together. They were washing off the whipcream and chocolate sauce they were covered with from one of the numbers at the show. They came out of the shower wrapped in towels. I had to come up with a mantra quick. "Don't be a creep. Don't stare. Act cool." I think that I must have been staring intently as I said this to myself. I had to get some cold air.
Thejedisilentbob had offered to let folks crash at his place, but I wanted to hang out for a while more, so I walked back a few blocks to get my truck and got a room myself. Coming back in I saw Siren sitting in the loby. She still had her Cat in the Hat makeup on. She was intensly cute. I told her that I would NEVER wash the lipstick off my forehead where she kissed it. She had her headphones on and gave me a blank smile. I fought off the urge to kiss her and went back up to the after party.
There were fewer people in the room when I got back. Most of the people were in the bedroom lounging and shooting the breeze. The two girls who had been in towels were now making out by the window. I had to start chanting my mantra again. I think that I was staring at one girls ass when Muggan_music said "there are a lot of horny boys in here." There were, I'm sure.
It was 3:15 at that point and I had been smoking and drinking and dancing and talking into the wee hours of a morning after a day with little sleep. I called it a night and bowed out with whatever grace I could muster. I was glad to have met everyone and glad to be getting to bed.
Today is Superbowl Sunday. As I am not a sports fan I think I will sit this game out. I was up by 0930 and out of the hotel room by 1000 and I'm still kinda beat.
I'm tired, but the weekend was a blast.

In response to what you wrote in my journal, Joe, all i can muster is a lame ass thank you. You are of course spot on in your analogy for the condition i've been suffering from of late, it's just hard to see it when you're down there in that hole. Y'know?
I can reassure you of one thing if nothing else, man. I will never quit fighting. Ever. It isn't even an option. I may falter and i may fall but i keep getting back up.
I get the feeling that you and i are a lot alike in this respect if not more.
