Got back from NYC Monday morning at about 4:30. I had to be at work by 6:30. The train ride wasn't that bad, but I never got more than an hour/hour and 1/2 worth of sleep at any one time.
New York was fantastic. Sure, all I did was touristy stuff, but I thought it was great. I stayed at the Milford Plaza about a block from Times Square. I did a lot of just walking around and eating pizza. I don't know if it was just the excitement of being there, but everything I ate tasted fantastic. I ate a lot of pizza.
I went to see Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theatre. I had never seen the performance or even heard the music before so it was a completely new experience for me. I went to the Museum of Natural History and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I took the subway to Battery Park and from there caught the circle line ferry out to Liberty Island and Eliss Island. Lady Liberty is beautiful folks. Staring at her I didn't know whether to salute or give her a hug. At Eliss Island I toured the museum and looked up my great grandfather. I found a name that matched his, but I have to check with my great aunt to be sure. She's the only child of his left alive. The sister of my grandma Pauline.
I also went to the Empire state building
.....work calls. I'll write more later
