the party Friday wasn't what i was expecting it to be. or anything like what i wanted it to be. too many uninviting people that i had never met before. it was good to see Jaqui, though. also good to see Edie and Chris, even if Chris kept beating me up for no reason. he gave me a head scratch, though, which makes up for most of it.
i smoked before i left, so i had no interest in drinking, and therefore was a lot more mellow than i had planned to be. i'm sure the awkward company was a factor, as well.
i love that Jaqui, though. i need to see her sometime soon, just us.
early on Saturday, i headed to a different part of Brooklyn to go to Sandra's place. hung out all day and got stoned on and off. made weed brownies for the show. i got completely absorbed in Memoirs of a Beatnik and almost read the entire thing, jumping around. i started at the beginning at one point and almost finished but got distracted, so i borrowed it from Tory. he will probably never get it back, but i'm sure he's used to it by now.
i steal books. i don't mean to, but it happens.
anyway, we left pretty early for the show, which was full of people. i bought a cute shirt. we were pretty close to the stage, but that didn't matter after a while because tall guys love to stand in front of short girls. the opening band sucked, but it's rare that that isn't the case. my stomach was hurting and i felt nauseous, so i was pretty miserable for a while. we ate our brownies after they left the stage, but i'm not sure they kicked in for anyone until the show was over.
the show was amazing, though. motherfucking PIXIES, man! midnight show, last one of the tour. ahh, it was beautiful. i was so excited to hear "Tame" and so many others. i was really hoping they'd play "Is She Weird?", but they didn't. i couldn't see anything for the bulk of the show, except for the lights, but i could not stop dancing. i guess things even out.
i'm scheduled for 37 hours this week, but i only have to close one day, which i am really happy about. i'm hoping (and almost positive) that i will pick up a few extra hours so i'll get some overtime. i know that sounds greedy, but uh, i make shitty money and i want to buy things. important things! like movies and, uh, clothes. ha. and then pretend i am going to save up for a new computer.
i'm shutting up now.
