There's a new "punk club" that opened here in town (and I use the term loosely because it's run by gobshites). I've been talking to them about booking Blitzkid here to play a show. Well, yesterday I called them to set a date and was told that they won't meet the guarantee. It's not an astronomical sum either...far from it. But these neophytes seem to think that a guarantee is negotiable.
I'm venting because this is just the tip of the iceberg. This club has a lot of promise, but it's already being run into the ground because of bad management and greedy people. They have opportunities to book signed bands, but they can't act or think professionally. Grrrrrr...

I just got back from a show at the aforementioned club. There were some pretty good bands playing, and the kids who were there were having fun and really getting into it. However, one of the main people who runs the club (and the same one I had the "guarantee" dispute with) flew off the handle about a remark that was made to her last week by some guy, and she decided to start carrying on and tried to start a huge fight in the parking lot. I can imagine what these out-of-town bands thought about us.
