Eh.

I just got in a huge fight with my mother about me "wasting my life". What the fuck. I'm 22 years old. I'm not in any rush to settle down. I DO have my shit together as much as anyone else my age. I have a job, maybe not a "real" one but whatver. I'm soon to have a second one, and I have an interview for a real job with an art gallery coming up. Sorry but the "young professional" thing is not for me. Yes I go out a lot but it doesn't get in the way of my responsibilities most of the time--I still show up for work when I'm supposed to, etc. I've been looking for apartments on a daily basis, I'm just trying to figure out when my friends will be ready to move out as well.

I actually kind of love my life. I feel like I have a lot of good shit going for me right now. I feel more confident than I ever have.

I reallyreally want that job. I think I'd be perfect for it:

The Gallery Assistant position exposes those interested in art to the world of contemporary studio glass, while providing experience in gallery management.

The position includes working on the computer (MAC system), communicating directly with artists, conceptualizing and planning upcoming exhibitions, installing and deinstalling work for exhibitions, assisting the gallery director as needed, greeting collectors and clients, helping write advertizements, publicity and show brochures, assisting in overall gallery maintenance, and learning to safely pack and ship glass artwork.

Usefull skills that are recommended but not required include a knowledge of MAC computers, Adobe Photoshop, Outlook Express, basic filing and office organization, basic cleaning, power tools and art installation, interpersonal skills for communicating with clients, artists, art professionals and fellow employees.

Energy, enthusiasm and creativity will be necessary, along with the ability to work individually as well as in a team setting.
