Last night, went to the Boobie Trap for my friend Sly's wedding party. Had a great time. Wedding party started at 8, at 9 it turned into a metal/industrial show with live bands. There were 4 bands, the last one was my friend Egypt's band, The God Project, which I had never heard before. They were pretty good. I was impressed. I got drunk with Train Wreck Troy, Egypt's brother who I've know since he was in late grade school, and we played 60's and 70's country on the jukebox between sets and sang at the top of our lungs.
I got beer spilled on me countless times. At least 12 times, I shit you not. I reek of stale beer right now and so does my phone(thanx Troy!). Me and Troy were supposed to go to some after party with Forever Greye from KC, but we couldn't find the house. It was out on The Drive in Potwin, which is super hard to navigate, even for a Topeka native like myself. So, we went to Denny's and Troy tried to convince me to have a scooter race/demolition derby with the handicapped scooters at the Walmart across the street. I didn't cause I was tired.
On the way to Troy's house when I was dropping him off, we started talking about starting up a DIY punk band. I've had the "let's start a band" conversation with countless people countless times. It rarely pans out. I'm not going to hold my breath, but if we DO manage to get something started, well, that would be amazing.
