I'm going to let you in on a secret...
SPOILERS! (Click to view)I work at Frito-Lay and we grind the bones of orphans into powder and blend it in the cornmeal we use to make Cheetos. OK, not really. But I DO work at Frito-Lay. I have worked there as a Packer for over 3 years. If you're wondering what a packer is(and I know you are), it's this: I stand in front of a conveyor belt and fan fold cardboard boxes and then take bags of chips off of another, smaller conveyor belt and put the chips into the box, fan fold the top, slap a label on it and then throw it onto the larger conveyor belt. Try doing this for 8 hours, 5 days a week. My five year old daughter could do this job. The hardest part is keeping my brain from liquidating and spilling out my nose.
But that's all behind me now. I hope. I'm currently going through training for a new position at the factory. Packaging Machine Operator. I won't bore you with the details, but basically it's a high stress job involving a lot of technical knowledge. Better pay and much more of a challenge. I'm on week 4 of 12. Even after I get out of training, I'm told it takes 6 months to a year before you're any good at this job. Good times.
