The ships that pass in the night indeed! Ah, it is only that brief night that we shared together, New Years Eve. But the longing we held fast to each other, the looks in our eyes, silent confessions, to speak without speaking, touch without pretense, think, move, act, knowing full well all things would end and all illusions would drop away early after sunrise. I loved her truly, though what we had we knew would end. I love her still. She flew away to her home already, our adventure already gone. Ugh. Her hair! Her smile! Her wonderful unassuming grace!
