Now, down to business. I have noticed a few sets going up as of recent that I feel have not met the standards that have been set, yet for some crazy ass reason, they have been accepted. I'm not going to say any names, but I just wanted to see if anyone else felt the same. nullPLEASE DON'T PUT ANY NAMES IF YOU ARE WRITING SOMETHING NEGATIVE!!!. Here are some problems I've had with some recent sets:
*No personality - the girl has the same damn look through the entire set except for maybe a couple of pictures where she looking a little bit more strained. I thought SG was a place to look at hot chicks with tattoos and stuff that showed that a girl can be hot and still have an ounce of personality.
*Bad Photography - Ok, i'm not a photographer, but I do know what looks good from an outside point of view. I'm sick of sets where the girl has just a bunch of close up shots at odd angles. I feel like everything is in a funhouse mirror. It's not making her anymore sexy. In fact, I think that it just makes body parts look distorted and unproportional. Just because it's a clear picture doesn't make it a good one. I'm tired of seeing just bits and pieces of a girl. I know as a female that we don't like every part of our bodies, but if that's the case, learn to deal with it or stay out of SG!
*Boring - this kind of ties in with the "NO personality" thing, but I guess it sticks out in my mind so much that it deserves 2 astricks. Moving on. I understand that most may look at the sets for purely the girl, well I'm sorry if I've been spoiled by great sets in the past, but i'm sick of boring sets. I'm not saying that they should all have a theme, I'm just saying that I'm sick of the same thing being done over again. It's ok to have a plain wall and just the girl, but make it a little more interesting. The girl shouldn't be as plain as the damn wall. I'm not talking just like her hair and clothes, but show a little umph for godsakes. I guess it's cool to look like you don't care, but I find it to be a major turn off.
Sorry for the big old rant. It's just been eating at me. I'm not saying that I could do any better. I'm just saying that I thought that SG had standards that weeded out the bad ones. Maybe I don't understand the "artistic side" of the sets i don't like. Well, fuck it if I don't. I'm sorry I'm not as intellectual as the dumbfucks who use that bullshit line of "you just don't understand me because i'm an artist and your not." No offense to anyone who is an art student or an artist of any kind. I'm just tired of people passing pieces of shit off as art (or as a set in this case). Now, here are some good sets by SG's and Hopefuls alike. If you think some are great that I leave out, please post em and a little blurb about why you like it.
Elly - Dark Roast : it's just so cute and funny like the rest of her sets.
Jasper - Date with the Writing Table : yes it does have some "artsy" pics in it , but there are still some great full body shots and she has a personality.
Ayane - Bedroom Monster : yet again, there are some odd angles, but the set doesn't depend solely on the photography. The theme is great and she doesn't have the same face throughout.
Burmilla - Rinse Well : my favorite hopeful and a great person. The theme of the set may have been done before, but it just isn't the same with Burmilla in the shower. She has a set of big beautiful eyes.
Kavi948264 - Shell Shock : really super cute. The whole set makes me giggle, yet is still really hottt!
