Just got back from my best friend's Bachelorette weekend in the Finger Lakes. We stayed in a beautiful cottage over looking the water and it was such a great time. Three of the girls I have know pretty much my entire life, and we were so close growing up. But then we graduated high school, went our separate ways and haven't been as close. Everyone got new groups of friends. I was so happy being back with them and being able to laugh and be silly like we used to but my heart ached thinking of how different things really were. We only see each other on special occassions and don't talk a whole lot. I just miss the hell out of them and it makes me sad things will never be the same. We are all married (well the last will be married soon!) and it's not as easy as saying "hey let's hang out tonight". I have a lot of thoughts running through my head, all very bittersweet. I suppose I should just cherish the times we did have and be thankful that we had them. It's just so hard letting go.
