OH MY GOD! INDESTRUCTIBLE (the punk night me and phil organised) was a total success. We got plenty of people in. We made enough to cover our expenses, pay for the next one and a little profit for me and phil. The atmosphere was amazing, i've never seen so many punks having such a good time. Phil's djing was fantastic, he held on to the dancers until the very last song. He even got a DJ encore! Loads of the customers had lots of great things to say and everyone seemed to really enjoy themselves. The night was far better than either of us were expecting.
We'll be putting on the next one in a couple of weeks before the students go home for christmas.
I got laid off my day job cos they are cutting costs. I'm not really bothered. It happens and it'll give me motivation to get a new job.
That's about all for now . I'm still buzzing from last night!

there is nothing better than watching punks dance. they do it all self-consciously at first, trying to still look tough, and then they get into it and its fabulous! when i went to see rancid last year the slackers were opening up for them. they were amazing and they did this incredible cover of the clash's "guns of brixton" that totally blew me away. there was a good smattering of rude boys skanking but most of the audience was surly punk guys. damned if the slackers didn't get every single one of them bobbing their heads and skanking by the time the set was over. that is the power of music, my friend!
your punk night sounds like sooooo much fun, wish i could attend!
luv,

I think of you every time I hear Bob Marley's "Easy Skankin'"!
