Oh yes, the problems staying asleep continue to plague me. For the past 4 years, I have been having a hard time staying asleep. I guess it's a good thing that I stay on a semi-regular sleep schedule but it sucks when I go to bed late and still get up at 6 a.m. I went to bed around 1-1:30 a.m. last night after hanging out with girlie for the first time to watch the UFC 65 event. I figured, what the hey, I might as well meet some new people who enjoy fighting as much as I do. Btw, she's a cute gal and she's my height, yay short people.
The funny thing is that they train at the other neighborhood Muay Thai gym called The Wat while I train at 5 Points so technically we'd be "rivals." I might go check out a class there just as a socializing/exercise event. I've heard good things about Phil Nurse and he's always there training people.
Other than that, Friday I was a complete loser and spent 3.5 HOURS at the gym. I did 2 classes, 1 hour on the elliptical machine, and then 25 on the bike. All the cardio was done before class. The first class was finishing everything with a middle roundhouse kick. The second class on Fridays is always a conditioning class consisting of 30 second drills - 30 on, 30 off x 6 then 3 x 1 minutes on with exercises and 1 minute off. Repeat x 4. I actually felt okay and not too tired. The cardio work has paid off I think.
Yesterday I also squeeze in time at the gym before work. So Friday I left the gym at 7:10 pm only to go back to them gym at 7:10 a.m. to do 105 minutes of cardio. 10 minutes rowing, 10 running, 10 bike, 10 elliptical, 10 rowing, 10 running, 10 bike, 15 elliptical, and 16 running with 4 minutes cooldown then I had to jet to work. It was sort of sick. That was a lot of cardio. And I haven't run 4 miles in forever and yesterday was the first. The interval training sucked but it took the boredom out of doing one thing for 30 minutes.
Oh, the UFC title fight - fucking St. Pierre is so cute and he's an AMAZING fighter. Smart fighter, physically talented, diverse strikes, great combinations, explosive, and fucking fast as fuck. He picked Matt Hughes apart. And he has some of the nicest kicks I've seen in the UFC - I mean, this guy does hinge kicks and ax kicks. No one does those. I love it.
