Damn, the gf got me my b-day presents already. She's gone crazy with the gifts! I just go crazy with food and the gym. hah. Anyway, since I won't be in NY for the big 3-0 she gave me a present early because I can and will find uses for it in many situations - subway, gym, etc. She bought me a pretty 30gb 5th gen iPod. I love it. Our mini died a while ago and the shuffle my sister gave me just doesn't do it justice. I don't even think I have enough music to put on it.
I'm killing time before I head off to work. I'll be doing 8-4 Sat. and Sun. this week so no injecting IV bags for me. Maybe I'll get the IV round instead. I left my site at 2:40 yesterday because the manager wasn't there and the woman who usually sends work my way didn't send me anything or email me allllll day so what the hey. I did an hour on the elliptical and ran a fast 10 minutes and then cooled off and hopped in the car to beat the weekend traffic back in to the city and avoided the crappy weather. Speaking of the workouts - apparently, based on the hand monitors for HR, after my run I was at about 175 bpm. The guidelines for someone my age say that 85% of max is like 163 bpm. I do have a heart murmur so I don't know if that affects me but I know my resting heart rate is around 50 bpm. I should get an echocardiogram at some point just to check it out. I know a guy who developed infective endocarditis and had to get a prostethetic heart valve put in because of a heart murmur associated valve complication. Now he's on warfariin. Ugh. I'd opt for a xenobiotic transplant because you can avoid using warfarin but you might need immunosuppressants....both options suck.
