I'm tired! I think the pms is making me really sluggish and the weather has been grey then sunny then drizzly then sunny. I get cold really easily so I'm sitting here with a fleece jacket on and I'm still chilly. And sleepy.
Today was the usual albeit we had to present our administrative topics - mine was on competency assessment of pharmacy personnel re: preparation of compounded sterile IV products. Really boring no? And by Monday I have to have a rough draft of my next presentation on a clinical topic ready for B.....it's on intravenous immunoglobulins. I don't know if he realizes how much information there is and how many different products there are and how many things these drugs can be used for. I feel like the presentation can take more than 30-45 minutes with all the info he wants me to include.
I've been in a crappy mood regarding my rotation site this week. I did get to take it out on J on Wednesday when I graded. Other than that, I just did 2 hours of cardio yesterday although I was tempted to skip and go home. But the gym was right on the way and it was actually easier to go to the gym than it felt like for me to transfer to a different line to get home during rush hour.
Today I did both Muay Thai classes with R. The second class on Fridays is more conditioning.
I hate how guys always or usually underestimate the girls. This always happens with the shitty retarded guys who have the crappiest technique ever and have the worst grasp of how to work on technique. These guys inevitably rush your technique work and don't give you enough time to re-set and process the move. Instead, they turn into automatons and simply throw a punch or a kick repeatedly without a break for you to get back into a ready position. How is this supposed to help? I'm a huge proponent of doing technique work SLOWLY - it's the best way to learn and it's how I work with other people. Especially if they're new - I'll really telegraph my kick or my knee or my front kick so they can process the stimuli. Fuckers. And this fucking teenage boy told me he had to "spar" tomorrow. His footwork sucks and he hangs his punches out there for wayyyy too long. I could punch him 3-4 times by the time he brings his hand back off a cross.
The second class I shared the bag with a different guy. He was a lot nicer but he had to leave in the middle of class to lose his lunch. Oops.
My ribs still really hurt - I was having more trouble breathing than I'm used to and it sucked when I was doing situps. I got some complements on my grading on Wednesday and even Kru E. said congrats and said he heard I did really well. Cool.
This weekend I work 8-4 both days. Woo the fun.
Ooooh, and I also got the books I ordered months ago on amazon!
I bought:
1) The Agile Gene: How Nature Turns on Nurture by Matt Ridley
2) The Origins of Virtue: Human Instincts and the Evolution of Cooperation by Matt Ridley
3) Man and Microbes: Disease and Plagues in History and Modern Times by Arno Karlen
4) The Red Queen: Sex and the Evolution of Human Nature by Matt Ridley
5) Mr. Punch by Neil Gaiman
6) Death: The Time of Your Life by Neil Gaiman
7) Propaganda Techniques by Henry T. Conserva
8) And books 2-7 of Y: The Last Man
I'm so excited.....too bad I have to work on a presentation this weekend. I'm going to go soak in the tub and read one of my graphic novels. I'm such a dork
