I'm sooo hyper right now. My ass was dragging like fuck all day at the hospital and I even thought about skipping my workout today. I did skip my Muay Thai class because I just didn't feel like it and instead opted for a heavy cardio workout.
I basically did:
10 minutes, elliptical, resistance 3, interval
10 minutes at 7 mph on the treadmill
10 minutes, elliptical, resistance 3, interval
5 minutes at 7.1 mph treadmill
15 minutes, elliptical, resistance 2, interval
5 minutes at 7 mph x 2 minutes, up to 7.1 x 1 minute, 7.2 mph 30 seconds, 7.5 mph 1.5 minutes
15 minutes, elliptical, resistance 2, interval
Altogether - approximately an 800 calorie workout. It was good to change it up and make myself run faster for shorter times.
I also wrapped it up with one set of situps, one set of tricep dips, 1 set of incline pushups, and 1 set of lunches x 3 for everything.
After that, I lurked and watched the grading. One of the trainers makes fun of me because I've been at the gym for over a year and I've never graded to a higher level. I've already had about 1 year of experience sparring from Krav Maga but since I don't have time to go to both places, I figured it was time to grade up to blue (competitor's level - which means I can start training for a fight in the spring or summer!). I haven't sparred in about 6 weeks but I figure I'll be fine once I get into it. I can take J - she's more technical but I think I'm more vicious even though her intensity is higher. N., I don't know - she's had maybe 7 fights or more but I think I can deal with her. E. I'm scared of because she just turned pro and can probably kill me. R...she's hot and she's had a lot of fights under her belt so she'd make me work but her style is more strict Muay Thai and I'm more a mix of MT and KM. I don't want to really work with some of the guys because they don't realize that their weight difference really fucks you up especially if they're punching at 80 or 90% and outweigh me by 40+ lbs. At least KM has me trained to slip and duck punches more than the MT people.
Either way, I'll be grading at 8 pm on Wednesday. It was nice that G said that it was a "horrible deficit" that I hadn't graded.....it makes me feel like I'm not a complete retard with the contact fighting. heh. Hello black eyes and bruised thighs and broken bones

Good luck on your grading! And if you don't already have some Thai liniment, it works great on bruises:
