Ahhh, chilling with some sleepytime tea after working the crappy 4-midnight shift at the hospital. At least it was easy and light today and I liked the people I was working with.
It's been officially 3 weeks since my left calf was lasered. I tattooed myself when I was 21 or 22 and compared to the other work on me, it was ugly. It took about 75 minutes and the next day I was horrendously blistered and swollen to the point where I had "cankle." And I was still running around doing boot camp and exercising with my fat leg wrapped up in a compression stocking and an ace bandage to minimize the swelling. When I was 20, I would have never imagined I would have undergone laser tattoo removal but I have no regrets about making room for better work.
Oh, this photo - taken 2 days after the lasering. It's alllllll blisters as you can see. Hot no?
And for those of you wondering? I started getting tattooed when I was 19 back in...1995!!!! but the work consisted of small things here and there. I took a small hiatus of maybe 2 years before I got my first big piece - a half sleeve. In retrospect, I wish I had taken it full sleeve off the bat instead of half. Duh, stupid youthful mistakes but who knew? I didn't know anyone who had full sleeves aside from tattooists. After I decided to start my back, it was all over from there - I did my back (Kevin Leblanc) finished up my arms (James Marlowe, Geordie Cole, JR Maloney), had my armpits done (Capobianco and Horihito), had my knees tattooed (Ben Wahh and Seth Ciferri), had the back of my neck (Grime), the back of my left knee (Chris O'Donnell), my right outer calf (Adam Barton), my collarbone area (Emma at Porcupine), and my right side from armpit to ankle (Larry Davis) my left outer calf (Ben Wahhh), and my left armpit to knee (Timothy Hoyer) tattooed up until I finished my last major piece in 2004? Or was it 2005? I can't remember. Blair also branded my stomach back in 2001.

And tpiercingf, My only quandry is whether to tattoo the boobs. If I do the boobs, then I feel like I would have to fill in the split between my ribs. I'm not sure.
