Now, for obvious reasons, here in Australia we don't celebrate Thanksgiving. There weren't any turkey exchanges in our national history and racism and genocide are poor reasons to create a holiday ( Though these two things
are something the USA and Australia can share )
But I can give thanks for a lot of things that have happened this year. I have culled down the full list in the interest of not having a blog that spans time zones.
1. Good health. Never take it for granted.
2. The Loser's Club. You all rock.
3. Family....especially my two nephews and my niece. Mr 5 is my spitting image ( sometimes it hurts my heart to look at him ), Miss 3 bribes me with M & M's and if you have never seen a two month old dressed as Superman you are missing out.
4. Not living in a war zone. So much of the world is on fire it's easy to overlook this one.
5. Our onion eating Prime Minister got chucked out of office....because he's an awful human being.
6. Daredevil and Jessica Jones.
7. Resigning from a job that I hated and willingly embracing the fear of not knowing what to do next.
8. Don't Starve, Witcher 3, Fallout 4 and a lot of other titles on XBox One.
9. SG and it's beautiful women. I could make a list of my favourites but I will be here all day.
10. Being able to buy a Daniel Hechter suit that makes other guys jealous. It's stylish as fuck.
11. My miniature painting. You can call it a childish hobby but it keeps my hands busy and I'm getting better all the time.
12. Proposing the idea of a barter option at the self service checkouts....just to see a stupid person try to negotiate ( with a machine ) on a trade of live chickens for bags of sugar.
13. Making the fraudsters from the 'Windows Service Centre' hang up on me. I use a Mac and have made a game out of keeping the people on the phone as long as possible.
14. Hozier's 'Take Me to Church'. Best song of the year.
